A Truly Phenomenal Marketing Job, But Nothing More
After seeing the ads for this pillow and reading the many 5 star reviews on Amazon for it, I decided to buy the pillow. I first went to the My Pillow website and filled out the quick questionnaire to determine which pillow would work for me, the response was the white pillow, which is medium in firmness. I typically like a firmer pillow so I opted to go up one level in firmness and order the green pillow. I purchased it through Amazon because it is cheaper than buying from My Pillow's website (after tax and shipping).
I was excited to receive the pillow, it arrived promptly. Per the instructions I put it in the dryer for 15 minutes to fluff it up and it did fluff up nicely, but I also noticed it seemed thin and when I pressed my hand on it, my hand went right down, all the way. Keeping a positive attitude and believing all the hype, I went to bed that evening and sure enough as soon as I put my head on the pillow, my head went all the way down to my mattress! I couldn't believe it, no support at all (and keep in mind this is the "firm" version of the pillow). I then squashed it up, manipulated the foam more to the center, the whole nine yards... still put my head down, and it sinks right down. Ugh.
This pillow is a cheap, cheap, cheap product. Firm is not firm at all. Needless to say it is going back. Kudos to Mr. Lindell for creating a marketing phenomenon! I truly do question the validity of all the 5 star reviews on Amazon for this product, but to each his own I suppose. The good part is you can buy the pillow, try it out, and if you're like me, you'll be returning it.
