Fake Levi's (See Images) — Please be Informed
These must be fake — at best perhaps there're simply poor quality Levis but considering these are going to be the second pair I return for the same red flags (mentioned below), I'm certain they are fake. Hopefully this review can help you make a better educated decision. The jeans in question are the Levi 514 "Dirt Rush" size 28x32. **Disclaimer** While my only experience with Levi's were with a pair of 514 straight slims I bought second hand from Goodwill, the quality between the two is dramatically different and I've worn them practically daily; long enough to tell. If mine are to blame, I'd love to know why they feel so great and the "authentic" ones don't. **Note about Images** Anyway, below are a few things I noticed that were odd about these jeans. I've also included comparison photos of the mentioned differences with my Goodwill pair on the right and the "authentic" pair on the left.* *Note that the color will look different between the two as my pair may not be the Dirt Rush color and I honestly don't know what they are other than that they look most like Dirt Rush according to online images. I do not consider this a valid difference. **Comparison** 1) SIZE: My Goodwill pair is 30x32 and while they can fit alright with a belt, I have about 2 inches of margin around my waist. They are loose enough that a size 28x32 should be perfect — I know because I'm currently wearing a 511 Tactical brand of jeans size 28x32 and they fit perfectly. Yet these are way too tight. Odd. 2) MISSING INTERIOR WAIST TAG: You know, the one that says "Slim Straight". Refer to the picture I included. Mine are on top. "Authentic" pair is below. Odd. 3) LITTLE RED TAG ON RIGHT BACK POCKET: This little tag on my Goodwill pair is a bold blood red with "Levi's" embroidered in shiny silver thread. The same tag on the "authentic" pair is a more muted red also with "Levi's" embroidered but with grey thread. The stitching on the "authentic" pair is more frayed (or just poorly done) than my Goodwill pair which overall are significantly more distressed from wear. Odd. 4) MATERIAL: The denim on the "authentic" pair feels thinner and more flimsy than my Goodwill pair — not something that feels sturdy like it can take a beating. The "authentic" pair is also lighter in weight than my Goodwill pair. Odd. 5) FLY ZIPPER: Check the comparison image. My Goodwill pair is on the right. The zipper is clearly much different. Odd. 6) BUTTON CONSTRUCTION: Out of the package, the button on the "authentic" pair rattled. It looks like there's an outer metal section of the button with "LEVI STAYSS&CO SF CAL" imprinted which is pressed over the button itself for each of these. This imprint looks flatter on the "authentic" pair than mine but overall is closely similar. With this said, in the image of the back of the buttons on both my pair and the "authentic" pair, the quality of how that outer piece of metal is pressed in place is very different. Like I said, the one on the "authentic" pair rattles. I'm sure you can see in the picture why that is. Odd. 7) METAL RIVET THINGS: Not sure what the proper name is but I'm referring to the small round metal hardware pieces located at the corners of the pockets. There isn't much to say other than that the "L.S & CO - S.F. -" imprint again looks flatter on the "authentic" pair than my Goodwill pair. Again, refer to the images. Overall, there's a slight but nonetheless noticeable difference between the two. Odd. **Keywords** fake, counterfeit, knock off, different, dirt rush, too small, bad fit, wrong size, poor quality, bad construction, cheap feel, didn't fit, returned, refund
