Our cat was recently hospitalized for chewing up a pacifier and swallowing the pieces. Thank goodness we were able to avoid surgery, and passed the pieces through other treatments. We purchased this toy hoping it would provide him with a safe outlet for his chewing. Since it is designed to be chewed, I (incorrectly) assumed that it was made of a material that was tough and a cat could not bite pieces off from. Boy was I wrong! In less than 2 days, our cat had chewed off two pieces! I am glad I was there to witness it and take all of the pieces away from him before he could swallow them and we had to make another trip to the veterinarian!!!
