The good: This vacuum has strong suction But there's much more BAD.
The good: This vacuum has strong suction. However, this is also the reason that I am returning this useless machine: The suction is so strong that if you use it on a rug, you CANNOT TURN THE MACHINE to one side or the other. I am a small person and it was actually painful even to move the vacuum forward, and to turn the machine was impossible. There are many other things that caused me to return such an expensive machine, starting from taking it out of the box: (1) The instructions consist only of pictures, with words like "clik" (sic) next to parts where one piece snaps into another. It was totally unclear how to empty the cannister. I have put together everything from Ikea furniture to electronics with no problem. These pictures, lacking a single word, made what should have been simple processes more difficult. For instance, the wand "clicks" into the top of the hose. But guess what, the wand is supposed to GO ALL THE WAY INTO THE HOSE, and not only does the picture NOT show this, but there are no words, which would have been simple, to say so. (2) Despite those ads on TV showing the ball on these machines gliding around corners, it is actually very difficult to turn the machine at all, never mind zip it around corners. (3) The ball is so high that you cannot vacuum under chairs or couches easily, as I've been able to do with past upright vacuums that I've owned. (4) The machine is surprisingly heavy, which makes it a challenge to take upstairs. (5) You can't designate what surface the machine is to be used on - it decides what height it should be at. (6) When you empty the cannister, the dust goes everywhere (which is why my next vacuum will have a bag) - I emptied it into a trash can with a bag in it, and some of the dirt and pet hair ended up in a pile on the floor. This is a horrible, horrible machine and I'm really sorry I spent so much money on a vacuum cleaner that has so many annoying issues. That's why it's going back and why I will never buy a Dyson again.
