Hopefully this review will put an end to whether or not this will work with the Bosch GCM12SD miter saw. It doesn't, at least with the standard blade. The 60 tooth factory blade that comes with it is too thin. When the laser is installed it is not able to make good, tight contact with the blade when pressed against it. The key (center) that holds the blade and laser in place sticks out too far, stopping the laser from tightening. Therefore the blade will slightly spin within, without any load no matter how tight the screw is. It's obvious this is occurring because the rpm is changing, the blade gets warm/hot and you can hear the friction of the blade spinning against the laser. This is extremely dangerous. I would assume a thicker blade would work. But, I am not about to buy a new one just for this. The problem is the laser is not designed for this blade/saw combination. A washer/spacer on the laser side won't work because the laser will then be offset and useless. But, a spacer or washer on the opposite side would allow the blade to move slightly left, making the connection tight. My guess is that this is what Bosch will do, supply a washer. I just don't have a large inner diameter washer laying around right now to test it out. Nor do I think I should mess with it. So, what do I do? I am not returning it, not worth it. I don't even have the original packaging anymore. My hope is that Bosch sees this, corrects their advertising and makes it right with anyone who has this issue. A thicker blade or a spacer on the right side is needed for this laser to work with this saw.
