What a waste of time and money...
I bought the Lenovo C40-05 (OS Windows 8.1) all-in-one computer directly from Lenovo. I had the computer for 12 days. On the 12th morning, everything was working fine. At 8:30pm that evening, the computer dropped internet connection. I rebooted the router and tried to reconnect to the internet with no luck. I check the Device Manager and the Bluetooth, WIFI, and LAN drivers were gone. I called Lenovo customer support (must be off shore). I got an answer and was put on hold for 20 minutes. I hung up and called back; got to same woman, was put on hold again; on hold for 15 minutes; no answer. I hung up. I called back; got the same woman who proceeded to tell me I would have to purchase a support license before they could help. I told her there was no way I am going to pay to get support for a computer that I had purchased 12 days ago. She told me she would have someone call me in an hour. One hour goes by; no call. I called back. This time I got a guy from off shore who told me to go to another computer, download the two drivers from the Lenovo support site to a flash drive and install the drivers on the Lenovo. I did that and still had the same problem. Now it’s 11:45pm. To heck with it; I will call again in the morning.
Call Lenovo customer support and got another guy from off shore. He tells me Lenovo is not the problem to which I replied “well I didn’t do it. It is a Lenovo computer and drivers downloaded from the Lenovo support site. So it is a Lenovo problem”. He then begins to rattle off that he “didn’t say you broke it” and then he tells me I will have to pay before they can help with the problem. I told him I will pack this sucker up and ship it back to Lenovo before I pay a dime for support to fix a problem on a computer that was purchased 12 days ago. I hung up and called Lenovo Sales; told her about the problem with their Customer Support; got a shipping label, packed up the computer, mouse and keyboard and accessories and to UPS I went. Full refund is due in 5 days.
If I could give negative stars, I would give Lenovo 5 negative stars and 100 negative stars for the customer support. I will never purchase another Lenovo computer and I will try my best to talk those close to me out of purchasing a computer form Lenovo.
I wish I had found this site (http://blog.laptopmag.com/laptop-brand-ratings) before I purchased the Lenovo computer --- "Lenovo fell from second place all the way to sixth, thanks in part to lackluster tech support and ............"
Do not buy this computer. Customer support won't help you unless you pay them. Lenovo has absolutely poor customer support and lousy support policies.
