Not for Professional Equipment!

I've never given an AmazonBasics item anything but a 5 star rating, but this monopod was a disappointment. It was broken in less than 5 minutes out of the box. I mounted a speedlight on the end, and the 1/4" - 20 mounting stud just sheared right off. I know my speedlight weights much less than the 6.6 lbs. that this monopod is rated for. So glad I didn't try mounting my Canon 5D Mark IV with my 70 - 200 zoom.
Upon investigation, I estimate that about 57% of the diameter of the mounting stud is removed in the manufacturing process (see photo). This appears to be a major design flaw.
Pros
The rest of the monopod is well built. I like the nice grip and strap.
