Thumbs down; don’t buy - especially if your cat “squirts” a bit high! I had high hopes that this litter box would work! However... The top and basin meet without making a good seal, and there is no “lip” around the bottom of the lid, guarding the seams. Hence, when kitty pees high, the urine escapes the box, and anoints the floor. This was so bad that I had to remove the lid up to four times per day just to rid the interior (back & sides), exterior (sides, back, and floor), and base boards just to clean up this massive amount of urine! Cleaning underneath the box was an ordeal - between the full box of litter (HEAVY), and the hatching on the bottom (raised “triangles” of rigid plastic), eliminating the pee was a fifteen - twenty-minute-long prospect. Three or four times a day, mind you. To say I intensely disliked this box is nowhere near strong enough; I was glad to see the back of it. I now use the base to store small scrap wood for projects. A much better use! Instead, I purchased the following, and haven’t had a problem yet. Look it up and see if it may bet a good fit for you. The basin is *huge* and the clear lid really helps with scooping. Further, two of our kitties are frequently “jumped” by another one when they exit the litter box, and the clean hood allows them to spot Trouble lurking about, and act accordingly. A six month trial revealed significant design flaws. While access to the litter was quite easy via the top “flap”, it was entirely offset and beyond when you add in the massive cleaning job multiple times a day. Went back to our 20+ year-old box, and a second top-entry box. At least I’m not on my hands and knees cleaning up the The Catit Failure all the time - and the cats still like the old one just fine.
