I bought this based on all the hype. Let's talk about the positives first. It's cool looking and sexy. It seems to be quite well made and everything works nicely. It also brews coffee quite quickly which is a plus. Now the negatives. The carafe is small. You'll be lucky to get three cups of coffee out of a full brew. The heating plate turns off after an hour and a half and it doesn't keep the coffee as hot it should be or as hot as it is right after brewing. This is, in my mind, a serious flaw. It's very expensive and my prior coffee maker did as good a job (or better) at a third of the price. Listen guys, I've come to realize there's no magic to any of these machines. The quality of a brewed cup of coffee will be determined 95% by the freshness and quality of the beans and 5% by the grind. All these machines do is dispense boiling water over the grounds. That's it. As long as the water is spritz'd over the grounds evenly the job of all these machines is done. Any notion to the contrary is pure hype and the product of an overactive imagination. Save your money and get any decent drip coffee maker for a third (or less) the price.
