This is a $300 fan. Yes, it's just a fan. There are fan blades and a motor in the base. Unlike a conventional fan with big, slow rotating blades this thing has a small, rapidly rotating fan in the base. Ordinarily that would make for a very noisy appliance. Here, however, it does as well since IT'S JUST A FAN. This thing is LOUD. It is also an irritating, fairly high pitched loud. Don't trust your ears in a retail store; you won't hear it due to the high ambient noise. If you are determined to spend $300 on a $30 fan just make sure you can return it after you get it home.
