Saving to the drive (writing) proved incredibly slow on some video files filmed in 4k. Tests showed 29-30/mbs at best; however read speeds were consistently 299/mbs. If you like the fact that it has the USB-C connector, just buy an adapter for your regular USB drive and call it a day. Even my old Seagate external HD performs faster than this, which was such a disappointment for the new product. I had high hopes. If you want the best speed - get yourself an external SSD. Samsung T5, G-Drive, Atom, and even WD has a SSD that will give you better bang for your buck. All are relatively portable. If you want a good USB drive only, I would say SanDisk and use an adapter. It sucks, but all of these guys have to work out the kinks with flash technology and Type C connector still. If you know of something better - please comment!
