Looked like a good idea
I'm not normally a review-writer, but here I am. The concept is good: a 3-tier expanding cooling rack that collapses to make it compact for storage while providing 3 distinct surface areas for cooling cookies and the like. Others here seem to love the item, going by all the 5-star reviews here. I'm not as enthusiastic about it. It can be tricky sometimes to get it expanded and make the locking tabs under the top and bottom racks line up with the bars that give it support and structure, but maybe I just didn't spend enough time using it to get used to the process. It's also a little tedious to clean but these are minor things that I could probably get used to and just deal with without much complaint. I had to return the item though, for what I saw as a more serious reason. I hand-washed it once before first using it according to the recommendations, used it once, and then washed it again after using it, and I am already seeing signs of rust. I don't see any on the actual surface area of the racks (yet), but I'm returning it because I'd like the thing to last and it's already not looking like that's a promising expectation. I don't know what it is with metal rack-type products today, particularly ones that are inevitably going to get wet at some point, either through washing or according its function (e.g. a dish rack)--they all seem to rust in relatively short order. This one doesn't stand out as any different from the crowd in that regard. These companies need to step up their game in making durable products if they're going to charge $15 for a cheap metal rack.
