Disappointing but not surprised
Cheap looking CGI, poor acting, boring plot, has some good vistas though.
The show plays like a bad fan-fiction they found on a Tumblr blog.
If they had listened to (and not fired) Tom Shippey, the show might have been good and stuck to Tolkien's lore, but we will never know.
We came for Tolkien's story and got something different and inferior. Do not recommend.
