Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I had high hopes for this hearing aid (based on Amazon reviews), but it didn't work for me at all. Several reviewers said it enhanced voices, which is what I was looking for. Like the several cheap varieties I have bought at Walmart and other stores, it does little more than increase the amount of SOUND, not voice enhancement, and certainly it does not help me hear people's speech any better. I tested it with a friend, using it in my bad ear while he spoke softly then more and more loudly from about twelve feet away while I put my finger in my good ear to block out all sound. I could hear his voice but it was completely muffled and I had no idea what he was saying. This may work for others, as some reviews say, but it did not for me. I suspect it is for people who have minimal or beginning hearing loss, not for people with advanced loss. As for hearing movies and TV better, all I heard was movies and TV LOUDER, not clearer. Too bad, I was so optimistic. Am returning them for this reason. My $26 pair work just as well.
