Purchased this less than a year ago. The ceramic pot chipped at the lip while washing it (did NOT drop it or bump it). The chip is at the rim, leaving a gap between the pot and the heating element below, so now this is unsafe to use because the heating element can get wet. Contacted Aroma promptly to be told this incident is not covered under warranty and that I'll need to purchase a new pot. I was advised NOT to use the cooker with the chipped pot. Was told the pot was on back order and I'd need to wait a few weeks to replace it (AT MY OWN COST). Turns out the item is now discontinued so I have a $129.00 brick and need to find a new rice cooker. I will try again to contact Aroma to get this issue resolved but I doubt it. I will NEVER buy another Aroma product again after this experience.
