CPS not worth the $
I have had horrible experience with Consumer Priority Service. They are slow to respond and hold all the cards.
When my HD television went on the blink, I had to pay $61 to ship it from Kansas City to Brooklyn NY, AND guarantee return shipping charges with my credit card. It took them a month to tell me my television was non-repairable and offered me a measly $325 cash settlement on a television that cost $525 just a few months earlier.
The other option was for them to replace the television with the same make and model, but they could not/would not give me a delivery date. "It might be a week, it might be a month", I was told. When I asked if it would be within a month, the response was: "we cannot give you an expected date."
I opted for the replacement, but still had no television in a month, and the same ol' song from CPS.
To get my television back and get a second opinion would have required me to cancel my contract with CPS, effectively terminating all responsibility from them. Further, I would have no way of knowing if any new damage was done by them if I did have it returned.
After intervention from the original seller, CPS upped the settlement to $439 more than two months after I returned the defective set. Now I have to wait up to two weeks to even get that.
I bought an extended warranty to protect my investment. Instead, I'm out at least a few hundred dollars when considering the premium, cost of shipping, loss of "market value" (also determined by CPS) and loss of use of the item I purchased in good faith.
