I wanted to love it, but I don't even like it.
I've been cloth diapering for 4 years now. We did not use a diaper sprayer for the first year, then we entered the learning curve of spraying diapers clean (rather than the old "dunk and swish" method). Spraying diapers seemed like a better alternative, but knowing there were now sprayed droplets flying around the bathroom was just a gross thought.
Finally, with our last baby starting solids I purchased a SprayPal. Lots of people recommend it, it had decent reviews, seemed like a logical purchase.
First impression from opening the package: $25 for a folder with a clipboard attachment? The plastic is super flimsy, but I thought it would work for our needs.
First use: This is a stupid design! The clip is wide (again, like the clip on a clipboard) but it doesn't open very wide. When the SprayPal is snapped into shape it is extremely awkward to get a diaper (that is covered in poop, because that's what it's for) secured properly. I've had several diapers just fall into the toilet because once I started to spray they just slide out. A better design would have two (or more) small clips to hold the corners of the diaper.
I mostly use All In One diapers that generally have long tongue inserts and the SprayPal is not long enough to prevent splatter with these style diapers. If I fold the tongue to shorten it, the clip does not open wide enough to hold all the fabric. I'm sure this works fine for empty pocket diapers or covers, but it's a hassle for AIOs.
Lastly, the stuff that sprays off the diaper sticks to the plastic. It would be better to use a nonstick plastic, or a plastic that was smoother (the SprayPal plastic is very slightly textured), so after spraying the diaper I need to scrub out the SprayPal too. I wouldn't have a problem with sanitizing it after use, but that I actually need to scrub particles off is just a complete waste of time.
With some design changes maybe this could be better. I wish I would have just spent a few more dollars to buy a better quality spray shield.
