Lower Quality...Same High Price...
LifeProof has clearly gotten greedy and rather than using their growth and profit to improve upon their product quality and reliability, they are producing a sub par product (at best) now, for the iPhone 6.
In the last month, I have already purchase 4 of the iPhone 6 LifeProof cases and all 4 of them have failed in the same manner. Case #1 - I ordered from Amazon.com and the rubber gasket seal fell out of the case as soon as I opened it for the first time. Being that I was preparing for a vacation to Cancun, I immediately requested a replacement from Amazon.com, and as always, they stood behind their product and replaced it immediately, with a new one. It showed up in plenty of time for me to have it for my vacation. Now this is #2 and it also showed up with the gasket falling out and not capable of staying intact on its own. Also, the flimsy little door kept falling off. Rather than returning this one to Amazon.com, thinking that possibly Amazon is getting "seconds", I ran over to Best Buy and purchased the same case there. To my dismay, LifeProof case #3 - has the same crappy issue as the first two.
In the midst of all of the this, I had purchased my wife's (White) LifeProof case from Best Buy and it appeared to be holding up "okay". After 3 days on vacation, my wife's case did the same exact thing as the 3 that I had purchased on Amazon.com.
Moral of this long story: LifeProof appears to have gotten greedy, they appear to have dropped their production quality to a level that is no longer even close to acceptable, especially at the price point of $80. The LifeProof case for the iPhone 6 is very poorly designed and put together.
I will probably go back to using Otterbox or some other brand that is willing to charge a fair price for a QUALITY product. I have no problem paying top dollar to protect a super expensive phone, but $80 for a flimsy piece of crap just turns me off. I hope that LifeProof figures out that they don't own the market yet and that they are still going to need to produce a quality product, if they want to keep a good name and compete in the market.
Rant over...
