I took about a weekend to slowly build it piece by piece. I was excited to finally have a proper bed off the ground, possibly didn't hurt my back, and would let my friend stay over. I put it in sofa mode, then put it back down. I did this a few times. It was pretty difficult. I've had a number of futons, even a futon bunk bed, and I've never had such trouble switching between the new modes. Well, found out it was because the struts that are there to "pull" the bed together once a side of it is lifted up bent. So.. now I have to take the entire futon off to switch it. I then also have to choose between a pretty stable sofa to be uncomfortable on or a bed that dips in the middle. Don't even get me started how much the top bunk shakes. Just... Ugh. Worst thing I've ever purchased. Unfortunately the packaging is almost LITERALLY DESIGNED to be shredded when you open it. So you throw it away well now how do you return it? Just... Worst purchase. Bothered Amazon still carries it. I will almost never give something a 1 star but this absolutely is an unsafe bed for any teenagers or adults. If you have kids... Well, I'd get something safer, honestly. But it is cheap. Included a picture where the futon sofa mechanism is bent and digging into (and bending) one of the supports. [In case you're curious I'm 200lbs, well under the limit for the bottom bunk]
