I got this seat because it was the cheapest on the market, and can be used by toddlers as well. Well, I wish I'd have spent a little more and gotten a better seat. This chair is built like basically a hammock where you wrap the material over the bar frame and then place the baby in - and the baby's weight pushes it into a seat position. There is nothing holding the baby up except the fabric, and their own weight. My toddler sits in this great. My newborn, however, was a whole different story. It's really not a supportive chair whatsoever and I was really concerned that it was negatively affecting my baby's posture while he was in it. I'm generally not into this posture etc stuff, probably less than I should be, but this is just really bad. My baby would try to roll from side to side in it, but because of how this chair is built with the baby pushing themselves into their own little "hole", as a newborn they are not capable enough to move out of it, so they're just stuck in the position they're in; he couldn't even move his head from side to side early on. It also curves/arches their back, rather than being somewhat straight, and supportive. It just didn't seem comfortable, or good for him, at all. My baby is now over half a year old, and I finally feel like he's grown into it and it "works". Still not the greatest honestly but at least I feel like it's not harming him the way I did when he was a newborn. If I had a choice I would still not buy this for a 6 month old. But for the first 4 months AT LEAST, please look elsewhere. It's worth the extra couple dollars to get something else, and this is coming from someone who is short on cash and gets cheapest wherever I can (hence the purchase in the first place). I'm writing this review to help prevent the regret from happening to other parents. An additional note, I have a friend who has a different 2-in-1 infant toddler rocker, and I noticed it's a lot sturdier in this regard. It is slightly bulkier as well, but it opened my eyes up to the fact that these products aren't all bad.
