I purchased this Farberware Percolator on May 29, 2018. Today is June 3, 2019. In fact this one was to replace the same brand I had purchased 2 years earlier. That one the cord prongs had gotten loose inside the base. There is no excuse for the melt down of the base of this coffee pot. I am so grateful I saw this spot this morning as I believe it is a potential fire hazard. I don’t know what has happened to this company !!!!!! Before my last two percolators ( both purchased over the past 3 years ) I had had a Farberware Purcolator for decades without a problem. I find this lack of quality control frightening!!!
