Extremely frustrating experience. Item arrived quickly and while louder than expected and heating up quite quickly, it worked fine (with a voltage adapter) for 5 weeks, before shorting out during use. At this point the trouble started. Contacting Amazon I was advised that after the 30 day period there is absolutely nothing they will do to assist - even with a clearly faulty item under 1 year unlimited warranty - and that I should contact the manufacturer directly. Ok, it's a legitimate business, should be easy... (it is not easy). Andis US refuse to deal with me and direct me back to Amazon, knowing full well the policy Amazon enforces. Spent hours trying different communication channels, before ultimately managing to contact an Australian arm of Andis who advised that as it is a US model they are unable to repair or service it and that Andis US refuse to pay for the replacement. This is a high price item, designed for professional use, and this level of post sale service is totally unacceptable. This process is ongoing, but I would highly recommend you avoid purchasing this product on Amazon, if at all.
