Using this product to measure real-time heartrate and this product does not give real-time heart rate in the Garmin app despite claims that it does: "Premium heart rate strap transmits real-time heart rate data via ANT+ technology and BLUETOOTH" (Garmin Amazon Item Desciption, First bullet point). They do not give a current heart rate measurement -- The device simply gives you an average heart rate and a peak heart rate, which isn't at all useful. The device does plot the heart rate on the scale of a whole day, however, which is also hardly useful when trying to measure transient heart rate fluctuations. If you are looking for a device that gives real-time heart rate, I also bought a Polar H10 which gives real-time data as well as even plots it throughout the duration of an exercise. This Garmin device does not do this, despite advertising it does. Perhaps you need to connect a compatible Garmin device to it, but I have no interest in purchasing another overpriced piece of equipment just so I can use the one I originally bought.
