Cuisinart FP-8SV Elemental 8 Cup Food Processor, Silver
First of all, I'd like to mention that I'm a huge fan of Cuisinart products. They're always well made, easy to use and last forever. I'm an experienced cook / baker in the kitchen. I have a stockpile of cooking and baking appliances. I thought I would downsize from my larger food processor that I've had for years. (maybe 10 years old or less). That model was easy to assemble, the touch pad was visible and it was very easy to use. Following the directions, the assembly of this model was complicated. Parts seem to be forced to fit. I dont understand why this model, ( when assembled and locked in place and ready to use ) the handle is over the touch pad. Makes it a bit awkward to use the touchpad. The older model when bowl was locked in place, the handle was off to the side, the blade snapped in place, lid on and you were good to go, With this model, the blade seemed flimsy when it was placed into position. Continuing on with assembly, I had to almost force the bowl to lock in place. I read the directions and went through the steps several times, assuming something was off and that I assembling it incorrectly. I was not. With these issues, and saving myself lugging this appliance to UPS to return it, I will pass it on to a family member who has more patience and doesn't cook / bake as often as I do. I have zero tolerance for complicated things that should be an easy task as setting up a food processor. I't shouldn't be a struggle or that difficult, but this one is. I wish Cuisinart still made my older food processor. It was ideal, it had a very easy set up and was easy use.
