I got suckered in to watching this. Got through 2.5 episodes and I decided I can't take any more right now. Why? I should say that I'm a huge Clancy fan, although I only read the original mainstream novels through ones published up to the late 90s. I was worried John Krasinski wouldn't make a good Ryan, but it turns out that he does. If anything, he's too confident in this show. I know he might be trying to escape an acting stereotype, but Ryan isn't exactly supposed to always have it all figured out. But overall, John's acting is good and shows a lot of potential for the character. Cussing I can live with - it is an intense military/political thriller. No major issues there, though clearly I won't be watching this one with the kids, where I do hope to be able to share the movies with them some day. Not so good - The completely unnecessary sex scenes. Where I might have been ok with a little innuendo, 2x in less than 3 episodes is borderline soft core porn, and none of it ties back to the main plot so far. The political correctness. I am reminded of the Harrison Ford and James Earl Jones who knew right from wrong and that there was no grey. They aren't afraid to take down evil no matter where it is. However, this show attempts to convey the notion that "terrorism isn't the fault of the people who get tied up in it." Turning James Greer into a divorcing Muslim is really going too far to just make the point that not all Muslims are terrorists. Who thinks that? Do we really need to be reminded of it by butchering a main character? Classic Tom Clancy was filled with unique characters - even the "bad guys" weren't always bad, it turns out. But this is just obvious political correctness with no dimensionality. I may continue this after I get over the initial bad taste. But not likely soon. If you want to watch a good show, go watch the old show "The Agency" although it only lasted two seasons. Guess people don't know what good is anymore.
