I bought this product as a supplementary bike lock to be used with my kryptonite U-lock. All cheap cable locks like this one are easy to cut so that isn't my concern. My concern is that the locking mechanism makes a unique and audible clicking sound when passing over the the correct letters. All you have to do is pull out on the lock a bit and the lock seems to make this clicking sound as you pass onto or pass off of the correct letter. Anybody with a clue about how to crack this kind of lock could probably do it in under a minute. So for the price it provides some visual deterrent to thieves but no actual protection against anyone who knows what they're doing even if they don't have cutters. On a side note, 6 feet isn't quite long enough to go through my front tire, seat, and around the bike rack comfortably.
