My last printer was a Canon and I loved it so when it finally died I thought I'd get another. This model is a total failure for me. First annoyance was set up. I had to download an app to my smartphone to connect the printer to the wifi to connect it to my computer. It was a convoluted process that seemed so unnecessary. The setup disks included were corrupted so my computer couldn't read any of the files, I had to go directly to the website to get all the drivers and such. Then the paper tray. Once you extend the paper tray you have to pull it all the way out and manually pull a tab to close it completely again or else it just sticks out an inch or so from the front of the printer for no reason. The feed on the back is such flimsy plastic, too, I can't leave it extended and with paper in it because I'm worried if someone bumps into it it's going to break. These are small things, but it makes the overall printer feel poorly thought out in design and cheap. Printing for me seemed slow and the quality was alright, but I've only done a few prints. It's very loud and when printing from the bottom tray it doesn't pick up the paper 1/2 the time and says there's no paper so I have to give it a little shove when I hear the rollers start trying to pick it up. Finally the scanner which is absolute garbage and I can't even get it to scan directly to my computer. No matter what I do the printer will not recognize the computer even though the computer recognizes the printer and can print to it. It won't scan to google drive's cloud storage because I have 2 step verification on and the printer seems to have no way to input the code for the second step. When I try to scan to email it wants me to connect to a computer and, again, won't recognize my computer. When I do manage to get a scan by connecting via USB, the quality is very poor. All in all I feel like I could have gotten a much better quality of printer with features that were designed to work properly for this price with another brand. It's a shame, honestly, after my last printer I was ready to stay a Canon fan for life, but this is a huge let down.
