This foam mattress was shipped to me compressed and rolled. The shipping box was not all that heavy and manageable. It was very easy to take out the mattress and came with decompression instructions. The mattress did smell a bit like chemicals but this odor dissipated for the most part in 2 days. I was able to sleep on it after 2 days of airing out. It took a full week before I could no longer detect any trace of the odor. However, after 2 days I would really have to try and smell out the odor so I think a 2 day air out is good enough. The mattress almost instantaneously rose to the 10 inches. It really fulled up after about a few hours after it was decompressed. I have owned this mattress for nearly 3 months now and have been sleeping on it every night. There is no visible sign of it getting sunken in. The top 3 inches of memory foam are definitely noticeable as the mattress is soft and comfortable. However, the 2 inches of pressure release foam does feel a little more durable and ends that "sinking" feeling the memory foam gives. It makes the mattress feel soft yet firm. The only thing I really could complain about this mattress is that the edges seem to be just as soft as the center of the mattress. There is no edge support. So when you are getting off the bed or sitting on the edge it feels like it will not support you. Other than that, I am happy with my purchase. Great mattress for the price. _____________________________________ I have owned the mattress for about 11 months now and took off the protective covering to wash it with my sheets. Beneath the covering is another thing cloth layer that covers the actual foam but what seems to be fiber glass threads are sticking out of from beneath the cloth and stick to everything. It is covered in it like hair on a dog. They are easily stirred up into the air and you can see many little pieces floating and shining in the light. Definitely a huge health concern as breathing them in can't be good for you. I had never seen them until I decided to remove the first cloth layer for a wash. Even so, I wonder if the finer bits had been floating around and I just had not noticed it before. In that case, you may end up breathing these things every night. Good luck. _______________________________ The fiber glass threads are everywhere... They are clung to my curtains, sheets, pillow cases, clothes and any furniture in my room. Washing the sheets, clothes and pillow cases does not work in removing the threads. Obviously they float around in the air and cover everything they Come in contact with... Stay away from this mattress! I will be throwing it away. I am sure these threads will get stuck in your lungs. I don't know how else to warn you except that the mattress looks like it is covered in thin shiny cobwebs that easily become airborne and soon cover everything in this manner... Look elsewhere.
