I purchase this cat food because my cat (Leo) has urinary tract issues and this is one of the few dry foods that does not lead to the build up of crystals in Leo's urinary tract. I had been trusting this product for years but recently had a horrible experience where the cat food was infested which what look like mill worms. I opened up the brand new bag of cat food and feed the food to my cat not knowing at the time that it was infested with worms. When I came home from work I discovered that Leo had thrown up in about 6 or 7 areas around the house. This is very unusual for him to throw up, as he never has stomach problems. I was very worried about him and ended up taking him to the vet where the vet bill was over $200.00. As soon as I got back home I checked the cat food and discovered it was infested with what I believe are mill worms. I have never been in the habit of checking cat food for bugs because I have never had quality issues with any pet food before. I have been in contact with Purina but have had a very negative experience with them because Purina will not cover the cost of the the vet bill even though the Purina cat food caused my cat to become violently ill. I have included a picture of the infestation just so others are aware. Two lessons I learned are it is best to check pet food for any issues before feeding a pet and also that Purina seems to think that I should be responsible for paying for the vet bill even though their name is on the Product and the Purina pet food caused my cat to become ill. It is too bad that the Purina brand, which I I used to trust turned its back on me.
