NOT BPA FREE AS ADVERTISED - Buyer Beware
This is egregious misadvertising. The product is not what the manufacturer says it is and Amazon should know about this. I thought I was ordering BPA Free Plastic storage containers (with labels). What I received were 4 containers, with no paperwork or labeling that indicated they were BPA Free. I thought it was odd bc usually anything BPA Free will say so on the box or on the paperwork - it's a big selling point for manufacturers. But there was nothing on the product or in the box. It was a very generic random box from the manufacturer with nothing inside except the containers. I checked out the plastic number on the bottom of the containers (the # inside the triangle on the bottom tells you what kind of plastic it is). These are labeled as #6 which is Polystyrene - which "may leach styrene, a possible human carcinogen, into food products. Chemicals present in polystyrene have been linked with human health and reproductive system dysfunction." This is obviously not BPA Free and buyers and Amazon should be aware. Amazon claims it's a best-seller and they should check out their products before putting their stamp of approval on it.
