I am once again amending my review. I recently had a fender bender that was not my fault (I was hit from behind). No problem, I have a dash cam! Well, that would have been great if the cam had actually captured any video from the incident, but NOPE! There was video from a separate trip right before the incident, and there was video from after the incident, but nothing of the actual incident or any of the trip leading up to it. There was even video from the car sitting in a parking lot, but nothing from when I actually needed it! On top of that, the rear camera frequently and randomly disconnects, and it seems like recently, when it *IS* connected, the picture is just a frozen still from when the camera turns on. There is no actual video. So I recommend that you just skip this one and put the money toward a better camera. We just ordered a replacement, so hopefully the Nexar works better for us (and, hopefully we won't actually need it again). Pros: 1. Easy to install. Even running the wire to the rear window was much easier than I expected. 2. Great Picture, though the rear view is a mirror image. Not sure why that is. Not a big deal though. Cons: 1. It's easy to bump the camera out of position. The tightening nut doesn't tighten enough to keep it solid. 2. The camera occasionally turns off without notice. Maybe it's just the connection in my car, but even when it seems solidly connected and doesn't get bumped, it just turns off. If we wiggle the plug, it comes back on, but it's annoying. 3. The rear camera sometimes stops working at random. Resetting the plug doesn't seem to fix it, but it will just start working again on its own. 4. Micro SD card is inconvenient to get into and out of the camera. I have never owned any other dashcam, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. It does an ok job though, and is pretty much what I expected for the money. UPDATE: After 10 months, the camera no longer works. The plug for the cigarette lighter no longer makes a good connection, so the camera is constantly shutting down and starting up again. The plug is not anyplace where it is getting bumped all the time or anything, so I don't see any reason why the connection would suddenly stop working. 2nd UPDATE: I contacted Chortau support and told them about the issue I was having. They said that since it was still within the one year warranty, they would sent me a new camera. I only needed the power cable, so they sent that right away, and it fixed the issue. I bumped my rating up to a 5 based on very good communication and quick, friendly response from Chortau. Good job!
