Do NOT buy this. I was looking for a simple cassette player for a 94 year old veteran to listen to his old cassettes with. Simple with good quality is what I was looking for, albeit in a four decades old technology. Should work, right? Well, the cassettes he wanted to play work fine in his car player, but NOT in this Sylvania player. The packaging was fine on delivery, and we let the package temperature acclimate for two days in the house (cold outside on delivery). Upon unpackaging and trying out, the cassette player skipped and played VERY slowly, the CD tray opened and closed poorly, and the controls were horrible. I'm really disappointed that a simple cassette player is so hard to find, and that the quality I've come to expect from Sylvania over the years was not borne out in this item. I will be returning it.
