This product has been used for only a few months. It exploded today throwing shards of thin glass and scalding hot water on my friend's leg. The glass is not strong enough for this application. This product is a safety hazard. Details on how it exploded. It was heating water on it's base. It clicked off. Hot water is now ready to be poured. As the kettle was picked up and we began pouring the water the kettle exploded. The glass does not have enough thermal shock resistance. It should be made of thicker borosilicate glass.
