The people who are propping up this items rating are doing so because they are kind, or are using it for cute purposes with a kid & likely have fond memories because of it. However, for practical purposes related to actually viewing things you cannot view with your own naked eye, this thing is a bust. Ironically, the tiny pamphlet that doesn't even tell you how to assemble it requires using the device to even read the print it is so tiny. Sadly, or perhaps hilariously, beyond that you probably won't have much use for it. One other reviewer put it best- this is not a microscope. It a magnifying glass. A magnifying glass with a neat digital display, sure, but also one being marketed as doing things it is not even remotely capable of. If you're trying to do anything for science classes related to school - DO NOT BUY THIS. If you're trying to get a child interested in science, sure, what the heck. Go put some stuff from your yard under it. Other than that, there are far cheaper & more decorative paper weights & doorstops on the market than this thing, which is likely the most use you will get from it.
