Reader discretion is advised. I cannot recommend this product due to a recent altercation with a particular insect. At approximately 1900 hours on the evening of August 16th 2016, I was approached by a Phidippus Audax, known throughout North America as a Daring Jumping Spider. Daring it was. I immediately grabbed my bottle of Ortho Home Defense MAX from my weaponry and wrapped my face in a scarf. I fired approximately 8 shots from the stream position at the subject. It appeared to be unharmed. If anything, the spider jumped higher. At this point, I shielded for cover. It was evident this was no ordinary arachnoid. Once again I approached the perpetrator, this time I was firing at a much higher speed. I fired approximately 10 more shots. It looked as though it was going to surrender, but again jumped further. It became clear to me that one of us was going to die. I abandoned all of my training from the Ortho label. I was left with no choice but to grab a broomstick and forcefully subdue the perp. At 19:24 the Phidippus Audax was pronounced dead. An autopsy was not able to be performed, but upon examination it appeared the arachnoid died of blunt force trauma. At no point did this species appear to be affected by Ortho Home Defense MAX.
