Classic TV rip-off
First, a disclaimer: I'm not fussing with Amazon for selling this [junk] because I actually ordered mine using the toll-free number I saw on TV, but I use Amazon so much, I wanted to warn others who may fall for this gimmick product. I cook with lots of diced onion, celery and bell pepper so when I saw the TV ad for the Chop Magic, I thought it would save me some time. I didn't have any issues with the actual construction of the product, but it's simply too difficult to push the blades through raw vegetables. I'm a guy, in decent shape and have strong hands but I'd challenge most women or elderly folks to chop an onion with this thing. I got it done but you really have to slam it down hard to make the cut. I thought a bell pepper would be a lot easier…wrong again. Bottom line: Chopping with this thing looks effortless on TV but truthfully, it requires some real "elbow grease" just to get a few vegetables chopped. And the cleanup is even worse; it took me 10 minutes to dig out all the onion from the pusher plate. I'll just keep using a good knife and chopping board.
