After light use, the latch broke [see attached picture]. I contacted Zojirushi for a replacement part, but was ignored. When the latch was working, I was mostly happy with the mug: 1. The insulation works well. 2. The design looks nice. 3. The capacity of the mug handles most cases fine. 4. Cleaning the mug is straightforward and easy. The mug did leak slightly while the lid was closed, which is not as as good as other mugs I have owned in the past. That was disappointing, but may have also been due to the latch problem. This is a nice mug, but if there is a problem, don't expect support from Zojirushi. I don't know if other have had the latch problem, but this broke after only light/moderate usage. It gets 1 star for me because of the poor latch design and the even poorer customer service.
