This is, hands down, the worst vacuum I've ever used. Oh sure, it started out great...but the love afair lasted only a month! The suction was very strong the first few weeks I used it. We have tile on the entire first floor and the bedroom carpets are low-pile, so there should have been no problem with suction. But within 2 months of using this vac, I noticed as high-pitched whine and significantly reduced suction. I discovered the hepa filter had literally collapsed and was stopping the air from flowing. I went online to get a new filter and this model requires you to REPLACE THE ENTIRE HEPA FILTER (PLASTIC AND ALL)!! What??!? The woman and the vac repair shop said she hates this model and gets a lot of unhappy customers coming to her for hepa replacements. Anyway, the filter is NOT SOLD AT LOCAL STORES (I bought the vac at Target), so I had to special order it, which took 2 weeks. I put the new hepa filter in 3 weeks ago and the suction came back for about a week. Now, I'm back to poor suction. When I sweep AFTER using the vac, I get a TON of missed dirt and dust. This unit is a collosal disappointment and a huge waste of time and money. I wish I could have givin this rating zero stars.
