When I first ordered the battery and bike rack system, I was asked to write a review a month later from Amazon on the product. Back then I gave it four stars because it worked really well on my bike but not five stars because the rack that is supplied with that is not what is pictured. You get a very generic rack that you have to assemble yourself, not a welded, strong rack like you can buy at a bike shop. But that is the least of the problems. I've noticed my bike battery started dying down unexpectedly a week ago. I have indicator lights that tell me the power level of the batteries, four meaning full and one being drained. Well my bike went from four lights to one light instantly and then completely shut itself off. I recharged the batteries and after riding for about five minutes, the same problem happened. Since I've been owning electric bikes for many years and familiar with battery packs, I decided to see if I could fix it. I knew that there was no warranty with this product, by the way. Once I open the housing, I noticed that all of the battery connecting rods were completely rusted. See the enclosed pictures. I contacted the company and received an email saying that the battery pack is not waterproof and I need it to place it in a bag when using outside. I've never had any problems with any other battery packs. I purchased this one because the one that I had before was very similar and worked well but the batteries were old and nonfunctioning anymore. Nowhere did it say that I need it to cover the already covered batteries with a bag, nor was a bag ever supplied. This is just an excuse for a shoddily-made battery pack. Give me a break! There's this thing called "the rain" that falls from the sky and onto our bikes. Had I known this battery pack was not waterproof I would've never bought this pack. They forgot to mention that in the description, how convenient! So now I am stuck with a completely dead battery pack that I've had for three months and a very rickety bike rack. I would recommend to everyone to avoid buying this product. And if you have it, cover the whole thing in tarp!
