Buy this item only if you plan on giving it to someone you completely despise. The list of complaints is long, so I'll start with the biggest. I've owned it for just over six months and the motor has already died. After a 45 minute wait to talk to an exceptionally rude supervisor I was told the warranty does not cover the shipping cost of the replacement motor. I would not pay even one cent to get this terrible vacuum working again. The list of things to dislike about it goes on and on. First of all it is HEAVY. The woman in that picture holding it up must be bionic. I would never want to use it on the stairs. The cord is terribly short so you will need to unplug it and find an outlet in every room you want to clean. The cord is also very stiff, so good luck trying to wind it back up again when you are done cleaning (you can see it sticking straight out in one of the pictures). The cord connects very close to the base, so you will run it over every time you vacuum. Eventually I decided to tape the cord to the main tube just to keep it out of my way. The onboard tool holder is inconveniently located right next to the handle and is exceptionally flimsy. You will constantly knock them off and have to stop to pick them up and put them back on. If you foolishly try to use them be prepared to be frustrated and black and blue because the hose is woefully short (and also stiff) so the main unit pulls, falls over and hits you in the legs. The hose looks long in the pictures - I assure you it is not. The dirt canister is poorly designed so that when you go to empty it into the garbage can the bottom wooshes down and creates a cloud of dust and debris that blows all around. Let me state the obvious - breathing in a bunch of floor schmutz you just vacuumed up is disgusting. Also for some inconceivable reason they designed plastic bars along the top of the canister so clumps of hair and dust get stuck and you have to ram your hand in to the narrowest end to get them out - also totally gross. About 80% of my house is hardwood and even on the lowest setting I can feel dirt coming flying out from underneath the rollerhead. If I walk around barefoot after I'm done I sometimes wonder if I've missed spots because I can still feel dirt on the floor. This vacuum is an absolute nightmare, easily the worst I have ever owned. Save your money, time and sanity and buy ANYTHING else.
