Strictly speaking, this is not a negative review. Rather, it's the review I wish I'd read before I bought three of these... and had to return, at my own cost, three of these. If you want a thin, plastic curtain rod, you can't do better than this for the price. But if you want an actual curtain rod, this is not the one for you. Here's the thing to keep in mind: Most curtain panels can accommodate a rod of much greater girth, and that's important. You want to give your tab or grommet the right amount of rod to hug. This rod is 5/8". That's tiny. A regular-sized grommet will look huge on this rod, and sooner or later the rod is going to sag under the weight of any but the most lightweight fabric. Put another way, pairing this rod with a typical curtain is like tossing a hot dog down a hallway. That said, if you need a slim and not particularly sturdy rod, this one comes complete with attractive brackets, screws, and anchors. Installation is very easy, as long as you have a long level, a pencil, a drill, brad point bits, and a screwdriver—which, if you're installing your own curtain rods, you had better.
