I used this jar for ONE batch of Kombucha. The 100% leak proof spout leaked from the start. I watched it leak straight from the spout as if it were turned on, but it was closed all the way. Then when I took off the cheap spout this jar came with so that I could install the more sturdy oak leaf spout (ordered separately), I had to hand wash the jar in WARM water. While washing in the sink by hand in WARM water the bottom of the jar began to fracture. Eggshells would be stronger than this jar. The glass is weak, and the spout leaks. DO NOT PURCHASE.
