ISSUE: I purchased the 7285Q Patchwork Singer model six weeks ago for quilting projects. I loved this machine until it locked up after using it only three times. The error code is C4. Very disappointing. STEPS TAKEN TO RESOLVE: 1) Read instruction manual, it was useless in offering solutions to fix error codes; 2) extensive research for information on the internet (didn't find anything helpful); 3) contacted Singer customer support. What a joke! The support person read from a procedural manual to walk me through steps to reset the machine. After less than 15 minutes she concluded the issue would require professional service. I was and still am very skeptical. Keep in mind I have an older Singer model that I've had for 20 years and it still works great! OPTIONS: 1) Mail the machine to a Singer service center in Atlanta,GA at my own expense sense there are no centers located in my State; OR 2) return the machine to the seller (again I would have to pay for shipping plus up to 20% restocking fee). Neither of these options seem fair or reasonable to me!!
