The Woke Brigade Ruins Another Show
The writers were more concerned about being "woke" this season, than actually being logical, coherent, sensible, or even committed to writing their MAIN characters as who they have been since day 1.
Instead, we get new characters who only exist to check a box, who have laughable character development and bloody incoherent motivations... even the characters who have been around since day 1, get any redemptive archs, totally thrown out the window for cartoonishly laughable reasons. Awful season and a tragic end to a show that was nuanced, subtle, and brilliant, that made who you rooted for morally gray and difficult because of how purely evil the Nazis and the Imperial Japanese are.
And the ending?
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
The Japanese leave America because it's "too difficult to tame" (even though historically, the Japanese just murdered and raped everyone who didn't assimilate. And they still control most of Asia when that story ends. Meanwhile, the Nazis still control the East coast, all of Europe, and probably the rest of the planet. But the big bad guy dies, and the timeline machine is captured. And THAT is the world we're left with. That's the happy ending. The Nazis literally wiped out most of the worlds PoC's, but hurray because the black communist rebellion gets to have an ethno-state. This of course, after a character brings forth a symbol for them to unify the nation around to start a new and final rebellion: the American flag. Except, no, they wont be using it, because to them its is a symbol of hatred (I'm not joking). The multi-verse? Pointless... because all the people from the other mutli-verses come over to the one WHERE THE NAZIS AND JAPANESE HAVE ALREADY ETHNICALLY CLEANSED MOST OF THE PLANET.
Great job, Amazon. Bravo.
