First Neato the battery got progressively worse, then got critical error and stopped running after about 6 weeks. Second Neato couldn't navigate or find its way back, apparently I got a refurbished model that didn't work for someone else. Third Neato they sent brand new unit, worked great for a weak, navigated and did docking fine. But then "my right wheel is stuck" started coming up. Now the wheel doesn't even turn, and there is no debris, but much harder to turn the right wheel than left wheel. And I am calling Neato customer service, again, tomorrow. I will update this review if and when I get my fourth Neato machine, but clearly this is ridiculous. I just love this machine, when it works. So it is so sad to have to write this review. But I do so much regret not sending it back to Amazon during the first month of trouble. Neato quality control /manufacturing operation clearly is not up to task. But, again, when the machine works it is incredible. Sucks up lots of dirt and apparently much more effective than roomba in heads on test. C'mon Neato, you have a great product, great customer service, but your Chinese contractor building the machines is the worst! Addition: Yeah! Called Amazon and explained my experience. They allowed me to return for full refund, even though my return period was over. UPDATE******** Dec 5, 2012*** I just got my FOURTH Neato. This time I tried to buy different model, the XV14, and bought from Costco online with special holiday deal (and forever return), to hopefully get out of the manufacturing funk the XV21 seems to have. IT WORKED! The MACHINE FINALLY WORKS!. Here's what's differnt (in addition to filter and brush), the machine finds it way around house, it doesn't get weird errors, wheels don't get stuck. And it goes back to base EVERY TIME! And, interesting, the air blowing out of back of machine is a lot more forceful. Also, when delivered the battery was disconnected, with big stickers saying how to unscrew plate and connect. Only problem was the charging base didn't work, but after all my other trials I knew to open, and it was just a cord unplugged inside. Anyway, only have had for three days, if this one blows up I will let you know. But I did change review from one star to four . . . would be five if it continues working. There is no question Neato has had major manufacturing issues, of course no one outside company will ever be told, but right now it appears they can put together the machines again. And when this machine works it is the new love of my life! ****UPDATE 12/27/12**** The machine is addictive, since when it works it is superb. But quality control doesn't work and my fourth Neato is now going back. The stuck wheel thing again, probably motor that burnt. Worked great for three weeks. Then went nowhere. Customer service is impeccable at Neato, but I really wonder how long this company can stay in business, replacing machines like they were disposable chewing gums. ****UPDATE 2/9/13 **** My fith Neato lasted two weeks. Then it broke down. Wheel stuck warning. Returned the machine to Costco (since I realized I needed longer return than Amazon, I bought the last machine there). Ordered a Roomba. Works great, no errors so far.
