high quality made in Japan portable stove that will be enjoyed for years to come
super high heat output at 15,000 btu. the highest btu on the market for a portable stove of this size.
i have cheaper portable stove that i bought at local asian stores for $20. i don’t use those anymore after i had some connectivity issue with the gas canister almost causing an explosion.
you get what you pay for.
i know this portable stove is a bit on the expensive side but it’s worth every penny knowing you won’t have any connection issue with the gas container. it’s piece of mind.
the connection uses strong magnets to connect the gas. it works wonderful.
i use these for hot pot, korean bbq, noodles, wok stir fry, making burgers and cooking it outside so i don’t heat up my house.
so if you need a quality made in Japan product that has high btu output, get this.
***August 2020 Update***
After using this stove daily for 3 months, There are 3 main problems I found about this product.
1. The cover that goes over the gas canister is really thin, in that It won't stop the gas canister from heating up to dangerous levels. If your thinking about using this for long periods of time like a hot pot, be very careful.
2. When the gas canister over heats and you shut off the stove, the stove has a built in safety mechanism where it automatically releases the gas canister. You won't be able to insert that same gas canister back in until it is cooled down. So if you're planning to cook multiple items on the stove, you won't be able to. A work around this is I make sure to have another gas canister on hand and can quickly put that in while the first one cools down. So this isn't really a problem I suppose but more of an inconvenience.
3. The piezo igniter will not work if your planning to use this for long periods of time. What I mean is the wire connecting into the ignitor near the flame will eventually melt thereby causing the ignitor not to work. It seems they use some type of high temperature silicone glue to connect them and that glue eventually melts. So if your turning on the ignitor and you don't see a spark, that's probably why.
Other than the 3 concerns above, I still like the stove. If your cooking something quick and fast. This stove is perfect. If your using it for longer cooking like hot pot, Korean bbq, or large batches of takoyaki for example, be prepared to encounter the problems mention above.
