My cats seem to like the flavor of Meow Mix but the list of ingredients does nothing to support a cats health, and mine will throw it back up on a routine basis. At first, I didn't understand why my cats were throwing up so much, but after doing a little research on Meow Mix's ingredients I realized it was their food. Meow Mix is full of corn, which is not digestible to cats and other ingredients are known to make your kitty sick. After switching to a dry cat food that is reasonably priced and contains the recommended ingredients for a healthy cat food, I no longer find piles of regurgitated food on the floor.(Actually, on the floor, on the sofa, on the coffee table...where-ever the poor things have been resting.) The first ingredient is Ground Yellow Corn, followed by Corn Gluten Meal, Chicken By-Product Meal, Soybean Meal, and Animal Digest, and several more less than desirable ingredients. The first ingredient in dog or cat food should be meat, and the source identified (chicken, turkey etc). And if you do a search on animal digest, the results are alarming. At least they were to me. So basically this cat food is corn, with artificial flavors and dyes and chemical preservatives like BHA and BHT. I would like to be able to buy this food, because the price is so affordable, but you get what you pay for, and since Meow Mix is so cheap, the ingredients are very low quality. One of my older cats developed hyperthyroidism, so I now feed them some canned food, also, which provides them with the water a cat's body requires.
