The product seized-up while spinning a salad. Took off the lid and put it back on and it started working again, everything seemed fine. Until I actually inspected the salad itself. Some plastic from within the turning mechanism had been shaved off, and due to the way the mechanism was designed, it deposited those tiny plastic shavings all over my salad. Almost didn't notice them at first, once I did I tried to clean them off the lettuce but every time I thought I got them all, I'd find more. Ended up throwing the salad away. I've never been bothered to write an Amazon review until now. This product isn't just poorly made though, it is DANGEROUS. There are better designed ones out there where even if the same failure were to happen it would catch the plastic before it ended up in your food. The one I bought to replace this one was made for the European market, where consumer safety standards are higher, and looking at the two lids side by side it's obvious that my new one is a lot better designed.
