I have no words for how bad this movie is. It is the stark contrast of what made the original so good. The color palette is muted instead of vibrant. The music is somber and mellow (not to mention typical) instead of rockin and haunting and original. It's long and drawn out 2 and half hours instead of 98 min. It's different to be different. It's not good just because it's different. It's supposed to be scary. Scary looking. Scary sounding. The atmosphere. All gone. The original was a simple story that became memerable for everything this movie does the opposite of. You take away the way the film looks, sounds and feels and what your are left with is this trash. Yes, trash. Even the "new stuff" they add does nothing to enhance the story. Less is more. SPOILER ALERT STOP READING NOW IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW ANY MORE I WARNED YOU AGAIN SPOILER ALERT FOR FINAL POINT......................................................................................................................................................Ok, you tell a story thru the eyes of a protaganist so that we feel what they feel, we know what she knows which is nothing, to have the twist be that SHE'S the witch is not only a cheat for us an audience member, but also makes zero sense in terms of plot, not to mention lazy writing to again do somethihg different for the sake of being different, or rather shock just to shock. It's not right for the story nor is it good story telling. Again, trash. See it once to see 100% how not to make a movie. But overall just revisit the original from time to time. Pointless remake.
