GOOD QUALITY & FEATURES FOR A GREAT PRICE! SOME TEMPS AREN'T ACCURATE THOUGH...
***UPDATE (2-12-2014)*** AFTER OWNING THIS TOASTER OVEN FOR ONE YEAR, THE CONVECTION FAN HAS GIVEN OUT. IT INITIALLY STARTED TO MAKE LOUD NOISES, LIKE IT WAS HAVING MOTOR ISSUES ABOUT 10 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED IT, AND THEN IT WENT COMPLETELY OUT. SO IF THE CONVECTION FEATURE IS WHAT'S IMPORTANT TO YOU, I'D STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO CONSIDER GOING WITH ANOTHER UNIT. ************************ I've had this little convection oven for about ten days now, and for the 49 dollar price point that I purchased it at, it was a steal. In terms of toasting, it does well as long as you follow the directions in the manual (for 2 slices) and place the toast in the middle of the rack and place the rack in the middle position. It doesn't take up a lot of space on your counter, while still being large enough to fit a 12 inch pizza or a 12 X 9 in. pan. I purchased it so I would be able to cook real dishes in it (ex. chicken/steak), and it is not exactly perfect temp wise, but it's close enough for me. I decided to test the temperature dial against my digital maverick thermometer and my basic oven thermometer. Both of my thermometers were in sync. Here are the results: Convection/Bottom Rack 1. 450 = locks in at 475-478 degrees (I actually like that it's 25 degrees hotter here, a lot of toaster ovens don't reach their max temps (too hot can be regulated, not hot enough is an un-fixable issue). 2. 350 = locks in at 350-352 degrees 3. 250 = locks in at 248-250 Bake/Bottom Rack 1. 450 = 450 degrees quickly and holds for a while then drops down as low as 425! Ugh! 2. 350 = 323-325 degrees for about 15 min., then it locks in at 350 degrees! 3. 250 = 248-250 Broil/Bottom Rack 1. 450 = 448-450 degrees **************************************************************************************************************************** TIP!!!!!! IF YOU HAVE AN OVEN THIS SIZE AND YOU WANT TO FIND A BAKING PAN THAT MAXIMIZES THE 12 x 9 INCH SPACE, BUY THE DISPOSABLE ALUMINUM PANS (I BUY MINE FROM SAM'S CLUB, IT'S LIKE A PACK OF 20) THAT MEASURE 12 X 9 WITHOUT INCLUDING THE LIPS ON THE SIDES, 13 X 10 OR SO WITH THE LIP. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS GRAB YOUR KITCHEN SHEARS, AND CUT OFF THE 2 LIPS ON THE SHORT SIDES (meaning the lips on the 12 inch length sides), AND IT FITS PERFECTLY. THE LIPS CUT OFF VERY EASILY WITH GOOD SHEARS. LEAVE THE LIPS ON THE LONG SIDES SO YOU CAN STILL GRAB YOUR PAN... YOU DON'T NEED TO CUT OFF THE LIPS ON THE WIDTH SIDES BC THIS OVEN HAS A PIZZA BUMP THAT MAKES IT A BIT LARGER THAN 9 INCHES IN WIDTH... **************************************************************************************************************************** So if you are heating up things like frozen foods or toasting bread, this oven is perfect. If you like to make homemade pizza, or even store bought, this oven would be a great option for that as well, because on the convection setting at 450 degrees, this little oven gets REALLY HOT! And if you want a counter top convection oven to cook raw meats like chickens, steaks, and roasts on those hot summer days, then this oven will do that well too. I would recommend this to others.
